Thai Yoga Massage 2 hr treatment $230

Thai Yoga Massage is a powerful healing art that has been an integral part of traditional Thai medicine for thousands of years. In a unique way, it blends elements of acupressure, Yoga, reflexology, physiotherapy, meditation, energy healing, chiropractic and Ayurveda. Thai Yoga Massage is a truly wonderful experience as energy blockages are released, boundaries dissolve and deep healing occurs in a space of presence and meditation.

The benefits of Thai Yoga Massage are countless. By freeing the flow of vital energy in the body, Thai Massage can improve posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation. Muscles are stretched, inner organs toned and emotional and nervous tension is reduced. Often a deep sense of peace can be experienced during and after a treatment. Although the main emphasis in the practice of Thai Yoga Massage is usually on health prevention, it can also be of great therapeutic benefit for a range of specific problems and conditions, such as headaches, back pain, digestive disorders, shoulder and neck tension, joint pain, menstruation problems, insomnia and other stress related conditions.

Thai Yoga Massage is done on a firm futon or mat on the floor with the patient dressed in light comfortable clothes. Typically a session lasts between 1½ to 2 hours. The practitioner uses his or her thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint and spine mobilizations and assisted yoga stretches. With the therapist using bodyweight instead of strength and a steady and meditative rhythm, Thai Yoga Massage looks and feels like a graceful dance between giver and receiver.

Reiki 45 min treatment $90

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us.

It is the name given to a system of natural healing which evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui who was inspired to develop this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.

There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner will then gently place their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes 45 minutes with each position held for several minutes.

Reiki healing can be given anywhere at any time as no special equipment is needed. The practitioner is a channel which the energy is drawn through by the need or imbalance in the recipient.

Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki restores balance in one's life.

Reiki supports all forms of treatment both orthodox and complementary.

Remedial Massage 1 hr 15 min treatment $160

Remedial massage is a deep treatment aimed at healing various conditions sustained in either an everyday life situation or a sports environment. Myofascial stripping, trigger point therapy and mobilisations are some examples of the advanced techniques that I use during a treatment.

Remedial massage can increase range of movement, reduce muscle spasm and pain associated with injuries. It can also help restore imbalances. It is a deep treatment which proves particularly effective in the treatment of specific injuries such as tennis or golfer's elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, sprained ankle or frozen shoulder.

In sports massage, I use remedial techniques in sequences specifically designed for the athlete – amateur or professional – in a pre-event, inter-event and post-event situation. This can offer the added benefit of enhancing performance, speeding recovery and reducing the risk of re-injury.

The treatment will be preceded by a short consultation to make sure any contraindications are ruled out. It will be practiced safely on a massage couch with the patient partially undressed, using towels and blankets to ensure privacy and comfort at all times. I use unscented oils to perform the various soft tissue techniques.

Swedish Massage 30 min treatment $80 1 hr treatment $130 1 hr 30 min treatment $180 (full body massage)

Swedish massage is a nurturing treatment using a series of strokes applying pressure to the soft tissues of the body. Its purpose is primarily to relieve muscle spasm, induce relaxation and reduce the effects of stress. Most people will experience a deep sense of relaxation, boosted energy levels and a feeling of lightness that will prepare them for even the most intense and stressful life.

If you suffer from a condition such as arthritis, repetitive strain injury, a sore back or tight neck and shoulders, Swedish massage can help you eliminate or reduce pain, increase range of movement and restore muscle tone and flexibility. It will also make you more aware of your posture, increasing your ability to maintain a good spinal alignment.

With a profound effect on the different body systems, it will enhance blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, thereby assisting in removing toxins from the body and strengthening the immune system.

In other words, Swedish massage improves quality of life tremendously and can improve yours too, guaranteed.

The treatment will be preceded by a short consultation to make sure any contraindications are ruled out. It will be practiced safely on a massage couch with the patient partially undressed, using towels and blankets to ensure privacy and comfort at all times. I use unscented oils to perform the various soft tissue techniques.

about me

I became a massage therapist after a memorable trip to the South Pacific in 2007. While I was “living the dream”, I searched for a way to take this exhilarating feeling of freedom and well-being with me, everywhere I would go.

I travelled extensively on my own, I met some inspiring people and meditated a lot. The journey completely changed my outlook on life as I discovered complementary therapies and a whole new world opened to me. It was like finding a jewel I'd always been looking for.

Upon my return to Europe I left a beloved career in Interior Design to dedicate myself to what I truly believe is contributing to make this world a happier place, quite simply by helping people feeling better in their body, and consequently in their lives.

Through my touch, more than just a healing massage, I thrive to share with you my experiences and my love for life. I know that massage therapy can do wonders, so if you are prepared to let go of what you no longer need and embark upon your journey of comfort, relaxation and well-being… I am here for you.

testimonials

“Chantal helped me to walk properly again after a sports injury impaired my movements. Professional in every way and charming throughout discussion regarding symptoms. Massage extremely thorough and ‘spot on’ and I was free of pain after 2 to 3 sessions. I was delighted and very pleased and would highly recommend Chantal to all who require massage in a very relaxed and comfortable environment.”

Gilly

“I have experienced massages all over the world and would say Chantal's Yoga Massage is easily up there with the best I've had. A very professional and competent massage – Chantal is a skilled masseuse. I would certainly recommend people treat themselves or a friend/loved one to this wonderfully relaxing massage.”

Steve

“Thank you so much for helping me with my back. Without your treatment I would never have been able to get on the plane to go on holiday. When I first came to you 5 days before I went away I could hardly walk through your front door, I was in agony. You saw me three times before I went away, once at 7.30 in the morning on the day I was leaving and with you gently massaging my back I could drive to Manchester and sit on a plane for 4½ hours. You suspected I had a small fracture and you were spot on. That's exactly what I had. I would recommend anyone to go and see her. A lovely girl that knows what she is doing.”

Heather

“The best Thai massage I have ever experienced! I can't praise Chantal highly enough.”

Gordon

“I have been using Chantal as my therapist for a number of years now. She is first class, friendly and very knowledgeable in her field. It is sometimes a long gap between my appointments but Chantal quickly refers to my previous history and she can tell me what weight I was 6 months prior and what my diet was etc. I would highly recommend :)”
